About the FireWolf Association

Preserving Legacy, Supporting Service

The FireWolf Association is a tribute to the enduring spirit of specialized support to Special Operations (SpecOps) and Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR). Rooted in a rich history of camaraderie and dedication, we are the lifeline connecting alumni, active-duty aviation personnel, and their families. Our mission is steadfast – to provide a central hub where the bonds forged from the Seawolves in Vietnam to the Firehawks (decommissioned in 2023) remain unbreakable and where the legacy of these remarkable units thrives.

At the heart of our organization lies advocacy, a relentless commitment to preserving the legacy and capabilities of Special Operations and CSAR support in rotary wing aviation. Our community has faced recent adversity, from budget cuts that led to the decommissioning of both squadrons in 2015 to the subsequent reinstatement of HSC-85. The FireWolf Association continues to advocate for a dedicated support model, ensuring the long-term success of SpecOps and CSAR rotary wing capability. TRADITION. EXCELLENCE. READINESS. EXECUTION. These values guide us, and it’s our honor to serve as a digital repository and clearinghouse for historical information about the heroes from our community who have dutifully contributed to this mission in support of our nation. Join us on this remarkable journey as we pay tribute to our past, support our present, and forge an unbreakable future together.
